University Enhancement of ePortfolio for Reflective Learning Phase II

The CRAC project “University Enhancement of ePortfolio for Reflective Learning Phase II” aims to sustain and further enhance the development of ePortfolio for reflective learning guided by the Generic Intended Learning Outcomes (GILOs) and the GILO Rubrics.

During the project period, the five Faculties/Offices (i.e. FEHD, FHM, FLASS, GEO, and SPFEO) put concerted efforts to work out a well-designed pathway for students’ attainment in GILOs through ePortfolio in different curriculum components.

Accordingly, a wide range of resources was produced in each Faculty/Office to address the needs of their students. These resources include, but are not limited to, online learning materials, user guides, enhanced course rubrics, and instructional videos, etc.

Faculty of Education and Human Development (FEHD)

FEHD developed ePortfolio resource toolkits that contain resources for students in each course, including ePortfolio introduction videos, instruction manuals, instruction videos, and ePortfolio examples.

Faculty of Humanities (FHM)

FHM developed and provided a wide range of resources to students for constructing their ePortfolios and developing their GILOs skills. These resources include course-specific step guides, ePortfolio templates and samples, instructional videos, and other online self-learning materials for enhancing students’ GILOs.

Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (FLASS)

FLASS developed one set of online self-learning materials particularly for improving students’ Critical Thinking Skills (GILO2). The materials consist of key concepts about GILO2 with related literature and introduction videos, and an argument map exercise for students to practice their ability in GILO2.

FLASS also produced video guides for building ePortfolio using Sway and Google Sites. The videos provided step-by-step guidance on ePortfolio content creation, customization, and assignment submission.

General Education Office (GEO)

GEO developed and organized self-learning materials for General Education Foundation Course (GEFC) and General Education University ePortfolio (UePortfolio). These materials include instructional videos, ePortfolio sample scripts, and assessment guidelines.

School Partnership and Field Experience Office (SPFEO)

SPFEO developed ePortfolio materials including user guides and an ePortfolio Repository. The self-access user guides provide step-by-step instructions for students to learn how to set up, edit and submit their ePortfolios. SPFEO also collected outstanding FE ePortfolios from the FE ePortfolio award and used them as subject-based sample materials.
