Introduction
The Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) has developed the Staff Professional Development (SPD) Programme for all academic/teaching staff of the University. In partnership with academic departments and Teaching Development Grant (TDG) project teams, LTTC has organized a series of SPD activities since August 2013. The SPD Programme consists of different components as below.
Theme III: L&T Seminars / Workshops
The Learning and Teaching Seminars/Workshops is categorized as part of the Certificate Course “Introduction to Teaching in Higher Education”, under Theme III.
It aims to provide new academic/teaching staff with exemplars of strategies and skills for quality teaching. Course participants are required to attend a minimum of 3 hours of seminars/workshops organized by LTTC / Academies / Faculties / Departments / Centres / Academic Units, including:
- activities related to human care (if appropriate);
- experience sharing by the Teaching Awardees of the University;
- talks related to learning and teaching provided by the experienced academic/teaching staff of the University, and investigators of UGC/Institutional/Faculty-supported Teaching Development Grants (TDG) projects and Community of Practices (CoP) projects.
