LTTC Project Recognised in Two International Education Awards

5 October 2026, Hong Kong

The Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) at The Education University of Hong Kong is pleased to announce that its project, “Building Emerging Competencies: A Human–AI Interactive Ecological Approach”, has been shortlisted for the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2026 and named a finalist in the GESS Education Awards 2026.

Developed under the guidance of Dr FU Hong, Associate Director of LTTC, with contributions from LTTC colleagues Winnie, Vincent and Will, the project explores how teachers, learners and AI can work together to support meaningful learning.

Guided by the Human–AI Interactive Ecological Model of Teaching and Learning Development, the project brings AI-supported dialogue, feedback and creative activities into immersive learning environments designed by teachers. Learners explore ideas, solve problems, create and revise their work, and collaborate with others. Teachers guide these activities, evaluate the quality of AI support and oversee its responsible use.

The approach aims to strengthen subject understanding, independent learning, critical judgement and responsible human–AI collaboration. Evidence from learners’ experiences and outcomes informs ongoing improvements to teaching, learning activities and AI support.

The project has received recognition in the following categories:

These recognitions reflect LTTC’s commitment to advancing teaching and learning through thoughtful applications of emerging technologies. We thank all colleagues and collaborators who have contributed to the project.
