Welcoming the Guest from Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics

30 September 2025, Hong Kong

On 30 September 2025, the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) hosted a visit for Mr Kang Chunxiao Jack from the Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics. The visit began with a warm welcome by Dr Cheng Kwok Shing Gary, Director of LTTC. Dr Cheng shared insights into emerging innovations such as large language models, multimodal learning analytics, AI-powered adaptive learning systems, and robotics education.

Colleagues from both the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) and the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology (MIT) showcased the AI-driven capabilities and mobile features of different educational robots. Mr Kang observed live demonstrations featuring obstacle avoidance, interactive control, and educational applications, followed by hands-on activities that allowed him to explore the technologies firsthand. The session underscored how the integration of AI and robotics can enhance innovation and enrich learning experiences in classrooms.

LTTC colleagues also presented a selection of in-house-developed resources and award-nominated case studies that leverage immersive technologies to support innovative pedagogy and student engagement. In addition, LTTC colleagues introduced the LTTC LLM Studio’s Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, demonstrating its diverse suite of LLMs—including ChatGPT, DeepSeek, ChatGLM, Grok, and Gemini. The demonstration illustrated how knowledge bases can be built using embedding models, alongside interactive applications such as an interactive web-based quiz generator and a Chinese handwriting recognition and evaluation tool providing real-time feedback.

During the visit, Mr Kang and Dr Cheng expressed enthusiasm for the potential collaboration opportunities between the Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics and the University. They exchange perspectives on the transformative role of artificial intelligence in education and discussed potential partnerships to advance innovative teaching and learning solutions. This visit exemplifies LTTC’s commitment to pioneering educational innovation through technology and collaboration.
