How to Teach Better: Leveraging AI Tools to Enhance Pedagogical Content Knowledge

In collaboration with relevant academic departments and Field Experience (FE) subject coordinators, the LTTC has developed this online repository of self-learning resources on the effective use of AI tools to enhance the pedagogical content knowledge of pre-service teachers. These resources demonstrate practical applications, such as using AI to draft lesson plans, suggest appropriate pedagogical approaches, select effective teaching strategies, scaffold student learning, design assignment worksheets and assessments, and provide constructive feedback on student work. Additionally, a series of hands-on workshops are offered to all pre-service teachers prior to their teaching practice. These workshops will help participants use AI confidently and responsibly as they prepare for their Block Practice, strengthening their ability to integrate AI into their teaching preparation and classroom delivery.
