Moodle
Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) has been adopted by the University’s e-learning platform since September 2011. It has been very popular among educators around the world as a tool for creating online dynamic web sites for their students. More than one hundred and eighty thousand educational sites around the world currently use Moodle to deliver online courses and to supplement traditional face-to-face classes (known as blended learning). Moreover, Moodle offers a wide variety of tools that can make course delivery more effective. It provides an easy way to upload and share materials, hold online discussions, give quizzes and surveys, gather and review assignments and record grades.

Since Moodle LMS was launched, our Centre has been providing operational and training support to EdUHK Moodle users while the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) has been providing server and maintenance support. The Moodle supporting team at LTTC provides a wide range of supporting services to staff and students.

- Course Content Editing Made Easy Instructors can easily edit and navigate course content with a redesigned set of content icons, improved drag-and-drop feature, collapsible content and a new full-screen option.
- Timed Assignments (User Guide) Instructors can create timed assignments to give students a specific amount of time to complete their work.
- Improved Quiz Question Bank Management (User Guide) Instructors can manage quiz question status as ready to use or keep as a draft individually, see the changes history of each question, and leave comments on questions.
- Online Feedback to Assignments with PDF Annotation (User Guide) Instructors can add comments, drawings and stamps directly on the students’ submissions online without downloading the files.
- New Course Navigation Menu With a navigation menu on course pages, instructors can easily switch between courses and navigate course content and features conveniently.

- Rejuvenated Dashboard and Timeline Students can focus more on learning and easily priorities their coursework on the improved course site and rejuvenated dashboard and timeline.
- Course Navigation Menu With a navigation menu on course pages, students can easily switch between courses from the My Courses tab.

- Activity Completion Status Students can identify what they need to do and view the progress for each activity and resource.
