A Visit from the Guangxi Normal University Undergraduate Student Delegation

11 July 2025, Hong Kong

On 11 July 2025, the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) hosted a visit by a group of undergraduate students from the Guangxi Normal University. The visit aimed to foster collaboration and exchange ideas on educational innovation, artificial intelligence, and technology-enhanced learning. Dr Gary Cheng, the Executive Co-Director of LTTC, delivered a welcome to highlight the Centre’s mission, recent initiatives, and achievements. These included the development of digital competency frameworks, AI-powered tools, and technology-enhanced learning environments such as the Metaverse Education Lab and the Large Language Model (LLM) Studio, as well as the Artificial Intelligence Education and Research Alliance (AIREA) forums and competition.

Following the introductory session in the Metaverse Education Lab, LTTC colleagues showcased in-house-developed resources and engaged the students in interactive activities. Through virtual reality (VR), students explored an immersive experience within the Metaverse.

Additionally, LTTC colleagues demonstrated the core services of the LLM studio, enabling students to participate in hands-on applications of the Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform and to learn about a series of workshops that leverage generative AI to enhance learning productivity.

The students showed great enthusiasm throughout the visit. The experience provided a comprehensive overview of LTTC’s role in promoting innovation and productivity in education. The students gained valuable insights into how immersive technologies, including VR and metaverse platforms, can be effectively integrated to achieve meaningful learning and educational outcomes.
