A visit from Southeast University Delegation

On 20 August 2025, a delegation from Southeast University visited The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). The visit was hosted by the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC). During the visit, LTTC colleagues shared the University’s applications of innovative technologies in higher education.
The Southeast University delegation comprised Professor JIN Jiahui, Associate Professor from the School of Artificial Intelligence, along with two staff members and 17 students.
Dr. FU Yujun Eugene, Assistant Professor of LTTC, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. The visit commenced with the delegation's participation in the opening ceremony of the 2nd EdUHK x HKUST Joint International Conference on AI and Education. The conference's theme focused on “Leveraging AI for Change in Education”. The delegation also attended the keynote speech titled "Navigating AI and Human Behaviour:Implications for Well-being and Learning," delivered by Professor ALI Raian, Professor at the College of Science and Engineering, Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
Subsequently, the delegation had the opportunity to experience innovative teaching and learning practices utilising cutting-edge technologies. This included a visit to the Extended Reality Room (Future Classroom) at the University Library, which features a VR Experience Zone and two Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) systems. These facilities support augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality applications tailored to diverse educational needs.

Following their tour of University Library facilities, Dr. FU presented the Centre’s recent initiatives and accomplishments, including the development of AI-powered tools, digital competency frameworks, and technology-enhanced learning environments. An interactive exchange of ideas ensued between the delegation and Dr. FU after the presentation.
The delegation was engaged in the conference on leveraging AI for change in Education, and was also introduced to LTTC’s pioneering efforts in integrating artificial intelligence and emerging technologies into teaching and learning practices, highlighting the Centre’s commitment to advancing innovative education.
