Instructional videos play an important role in online learning, providing students with access to lessons anytime and anywhere. However, creating these videos can be a time-intensive task for educators. Teachers often need to prepare PowerPoint presentation slides and manually record videos. This talk will introduce an innovative generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) platform called the Generative Instructional Video in Education (GIVE) Platform. This platform seamlessly integrates large language models to automatically synthesize instructional videosbased on the course materials provided by teachers. Furthermore, the GIVE Platform can generate personalized avatars that accurately reflect the teacher’s voice and appearance, thereby enhancing the visual and interactive aspects of the instructional videos. Beyond video creation, the GIVE Platform will leverage GenAI to design contextual learning tasks and develop quizzes aimed at improving students’ problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. This presentation will introduce the platform and demonstrate its application in education. We invite interested colleagues to participate in our experimental study during the second semester of 2024-25.
