Switzerland’s dual vocational training system combines practical skill development in trainingcompanies with theoretical instruction in vocational schools. A key challenge lies in bridging the gap between practice and theory. Immersive learning technologies, utilizing XR and AI, offer a promising technological solution. Martin Berger explores this topic in his research. In his presentation, he sheds light on specific didactic challenges within vocational education and training, along with his research projects investigating the potential of immersive learningtechnologies to address these challenges. Furthermore, he discusses how research-based solutions can be implemented in real-world settings and outlines strategies for successful knowledge transfer.
