The 11th International Conference on Behavioral and Social Computing (BESC 2024) was held in Harbin. The conference was organised by Harbin Engineering University and hosted by the College of Computer Science and Technology at Harbin Engineering University, with technical support from the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. Over 150 researchers and developers from academia and industry who were working in artificial intelligence, computational sociology, natural language processing, business, and marketing attended the event.

Professor Xu Guandong, Chair Professor of Artificial Intelligence, Director of the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC), and Director of the University Research Facility of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (UDSAI) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), attended the BESC 2024 as the Steering Committee Chair. Dr. Yang Yu, Assistant Professor of LTTC, also attended the conference.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Xu recounted the history of the BESC from 2014 to 2023, introduced the composition of the organising committee for BESC 2024, and highlighted the keynote speakers of the conference. He expressed gratitude to all scholars for their support, providing a brief overview of the conference schedule.

At the closing ceremony of the conference, the conference steering committee decided to host the BESC 2025 at EdUHK in October 2025. Dr Yang provided an overview to EdUHK and welcomed paper submissions.
