On 18 March 2025, the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) hosted a delegation from Chiang Mai University (CMU). The visit aimed to foster collaboration and exchange ideas on educational innovation, artificial intelligence, and technology-enhanced learning.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr Gary CHENG, the Executive Co-Director of LTTC, who delivered an insightful welcoming address. He highlighted LTTC’s mission to drive educational excellence through innovative pedagogical approaches and e-learning, and digital competency initiatives. Dr Cheng also emphasised the Centre’s recent work and achievements, including the development of AI-powered tools, digital competency frameworks, and immersive learning environments such as the Metaverse Education Lab and the LLM Studio.

Following the welcome session, the delegation toured several key LTTC facilities. At the Large Language Model (LLM) studio, LTTC colleagues showcased their core services, including a Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, as well as a series of workshops focused on generative AI and DeepSeek. In the Metaverse Education Lab, LTTC colleagues demonstrated self-developed courses and award-winning case studies that leveraged immersive technologies, including virtual reality (VR) and metaverse education platforms.

Throughout the visit, fruitful discussions took place between the CMU delegation and LTTC staff members. Topics included potential collaborative projects, sharing of best practices in AI education, and strategies for integrating technology into teaching and learning.

The visit concluded with mutual expressions of enthusiasm for future collaboration. Both institutions recognised the importance of global partnerships in driving innovation and ensuring that students and educators benefit from the latest developments in learning technologies.

This event underscores LTTC’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and its role as a hub for educational innovation. By connecting with institutions like CMU, EdUHK continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in education, ensuring that AI and emerging technologies are leveraged responsibly and effectively to enhance learning and teaching outcomes.
