LTTC Director Xu Guandong Leads EdUHK Delegation to Strengthen Collaboration with Shantou University

A delegation from The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), led by Professor Xu Guandong, Chair Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Director of the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology (LTTC), visited Shantou University from March 6 to 9, 2025. The visit aimed to foster academic collaboration and knowledge exchange in artificial intelligence, data science, and education technology.
During the visit, Professor Xu, alongside Dr. Sun Daner, Associate Head and Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology (MIT), Dr. Yang Yin Nicole, Research Assistant Professor at MIT, and Dr. Yang Yu, Assistant Professor at LTTC, engaged in a series of academic discussions with Shantou University’s School of Mathematics and Computer Science. The delegation also met with Shantou University’s Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, exploring opportunities for future academic partnerships.
A highlight of the visit was Professor Xu’s keynote lecture on “AI-Driven Educational Innovation,” where he shared insights on large language models, multimodal learning analytics, and AI-powered adaptive learning systems. His presentation sparked dynamic discussions on integrating artificial intelligence into modern education.
In addition to the keynote, the delegation participated in strategic dialogues with Shantou University leaders, focusing on joint research initiatives, talent cultivation programs, and the potential for collaborative projects in AI and educational technology.
The visit strengthened ties between EdUHK and Shantou University, laying a solid foundation for future research collaborations, faculty exchanges, and joint academic initiatives. Both institutions look forward to deepening their partnership to drive innovation in AI and education.
